Manchester United are close to completing Bruno Fernandes transfer

Red Devils move for Sporting Lisbon playmaker Bruno Fernandes is at risk of collapsing as the two clubs are £13m apart in their valuation of the footballer. Portugal international has told the Liga NOS giants that he wants to move to Theatre of Dreams and has already agreed on personal terms with Man United on a £130,000-a-week salary.
However, amid a willingness to cash in, Portuguese club are unhappy with Red Devils opening offer of nearly £42m. Man United included several add-on clauses that could see the deal eventually rise to over £60m but Sporting Lisbon consider the clauses to be unrealistic, and they want a greater upfront fee.
It’s claimed that the club are unwilling to drop their asking price as Red Devils have failed to include a footballer in exchange as part of the agreement. The club had been willing to accept a lower fee if a footballer was included, but neither Andreas Pereira or Marcos Rojo were willing to move the other way.
Liga NOS club, in any case, have ruled out Bruno’s departure before Friday’s game with city rivals Benfica as they want the playmaker to feature in the derby. But Man United’s refusal to submit a larger offer could scupper the entire deal as the two clubs are still £13m apart in their valuations.
Norwegian manager and his assistant Mike Phelan watched him in Sporting’s game with Porto earlier this month, and he has refused to deny the club’s interest in the playmaker. Man United have given Ole Gunnar Solskjaer huge funds to spend after he failed to buy a replacement for Romelu Lukaku.
